Monticello senior P/1B Alaina Lyle was named TeamFunded Player of the Week for her efforts after helping the Billies secure two key 4A-8 conference victories over Star City and Warren.
The Ouachita Baptist signee batted an incredible .857 (6-of-7), with three runs scored, a double and three home runs. She also struck out seven batters while walking two and allowed zero earned runs throwing 5.1 innings. Lyle and the Billies have already wrapped up a regular season conference title, but came into the week with a 14-6 record and checked in at No. 4 in this week’s Fearless Friday Super 7 rankings for Class 4A.
Off of the field, Lyle maintains a 3.8 GPA and is a member of the Beta Club as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
