Woodlawn senior Lillie-Faye McWhorter helped her team win the Green Division of last weekend’s Blazer Blast in Jonesboro in what was a loaded week for the Lady Bears.
During the three-game weekend slate, the University of Arkansas signee pitched two gems in the first and championship rounds versus the powerful lineups of Riverside and Mayflower – who is ranked No. 2 in the week’s Class 3A Fearless Friday Softball Rankings. Against Riverside, she threw a complete two-hit shutout and struck out 12 batters in five innings and then allowed only two hits against Mayflower in the final, punching out 17 in a complete six inning effort. The Lady Bears are currently ranked No. 2 in Class 2A and are 10-4 on the season.
