TeamFunded Baseball Player of the Week (4/1/25): Sylvan Hills senior Everett Bird

Sylvan Hills senior Everett Bird has been named the TeamFunded Player of the Week following a huge showing at the USA Stadium Challenge in Millington, Tennessee over spring break.

In those three games, the RHP/SS finished a perfect 5 for 5, reached base eight times and scored four runs. He also stole four bases, hit a double, knocked in two runs, plus pitched 4.1 innings while striking out eight batters and allowing only one earned run. On the season, Bird is batting .500 and slugging 1.115 with 14 runs scored. He’s also stolen eight bases, batted in 12 runs and hit four home runs. On the mound, Bird is 2-0 with 30 strikeouts in 15.1 innings with a .91 earned run average.

Bird is committed to play at McLennan (Texas) College, which is ranked No. 20 in this week’s NJCAA DI Top 25 poll. He maintains a 3.5 GPA in the classroom and is a member of the Sylvan Hills Chess Club.
