Conway junior catcher Shaun Cover has been named the TeamFunded Baseball Player of the Week.
Cover led the Wampus Cats to a 13-0 win over Bryant, finishing a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate with five runs batted in, and smacked a three-run homer. He also knocked home a run in Conway’s Thursday win over Catholic. Through six games this season, Cover is slashing .625/.727/.1.188 with three doubles, two home runs and 12 runs batted in. He also has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage behind the dish with 47 putouts and three assists.
Cover is committed to play at Southern Miss. He also excels in the classroom, maintaining a 3.9 GPA and scored a 28 on the ACT.
