Shootout of the South returns to Mighty Bluebird Complex

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Father’s Day weekend means that it is time again for one of the nation’s premier 7-on-7 football tournaments.

The 2024 Shootout of the South will be held at the Mighty Bluebird Complex in Little Rock on Friday and Saturday (June 14-15), the original location of the event since its inception in 2005. In recent years, the tournament was held at Joe B. Hatcher Stadium on the campus of tournament host Pulaski Academy, but the football field is currently undergoing turf renovations.

Over 700 players compiled into 24 teams will be placed in four pools and play in two waves. The first wave will go beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, followed by the second at approximately 2 p.m.

Consolation bracket play will get going on Saturday at 8 a.m. before the 16-team Regional Tournament begins at 11 a.m. Both the consolation and championship final rounds will be played at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The two-time defending Shootout of the South Champion Bryant Hornets are back and will be one of the first four games on Friday, squaring off against Arkadelphia.

Natural State Sports will have coverage of both days. Stay up to date on Facebook and Twitter (X), plus you can follow the Shootout of the South X page for bracket updates.
