American Legion Junior State Tournament to Begin Monday

HOT SPRINGS, ARK. – Twenty-three teams will be vying for the 2024 American Legion State Juniors (17U) Baseball Championship beginning Monday.

This year’s double-elimination tournament begins with three 6-team brackets and one 5-team bracket to be played at three different sites. The two final teams in each bracket will be seeded and advance to an eight-team double-elimination championship bracket to begin on July 15 at Majestic Park in Hot Springs, Ark.

Bracket one will take place at Little Rock Christian Academy with the first game set for 5 p.m. between the Little Rock Rockies and Batesville. The winner will advance to face Mountain Home on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The second game on Monday will match Springdale against Conway at 7:30 with the winner to take on the Little Rock Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The tournament for all four brackets continues on Wednesday and Thursday.

Benton High School will be the host of Bracket 2 play with the Little Rock Battlebirds facing off against Stuttgart at 5 p.m. with the winner to face Bryant on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Eighth Battalion (Lavaca) will take on Vilonia on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Texarkana Wheat awaits the winner with the game beginning at 5 p.m.

Benton and Majestic Park in Hot Springs will play host to 5-team Bracket 3.

The opening game will take place Monday at Majestic Park with Cabot facing off against Dardanelle. The first pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.  The winner will then face Sheridan Peoples on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with the game being played at Benton.

Arkadelphia will face North Little Rock on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Majestic Park.

Majestic Park will host Bracket 4 with White Hall taking on Texarkana River at 5 p.m. Monday. Next on the docket is Perryville against Sheridan Wylie at 7:30 p.m.

Defending American Legion Juniors Champion Lake Hamilton is set to play the winner of White Hall and Texarkana on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., while Fort Smith awaits the winner of Perryville and Sheridan Wylie set to be played at 5 p.m.
