The Arkansas Razorbacks and Head Hog Sam Pittman get their eleventh commitment for the Class of 2021.  AJ (“(Money”) Green, running back from Tulles (OK), has committed to be a Razorback as of 5 p.m. Friday.  Green is a football and track standout with elite speed.  He is a highly athletic, multi-positional prospect who shines at running back, but he also has been recruited by many as a corner.  While in the recruiting process he has made it clear that he wants to play RB in college.  Outstanding top end speed that was fit perfectly with the Hog offensive backfield and it shows on tape.  Also a track standout with a 10.38 100 and 21.46 200 on his resume.

Green, a 5-11 194 running back from Union HS in Tulsa (OK), has chosen to come to Arkansas over Louisville, South Caroline, LSU, Texas, Colorado, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Michigan, as well as many others.  The offer list was quite full across the board.  Green compiled a total of 15 offers from across college football.

The Razorbacks and Sam Pittman offered Green a scholarship shortly after taking over on the Hill on February 14th.   Running backs coach Jimmy Smith and the Hogs’ offense have made this Tulsa, Oklahoma native their top priority ever since.

According to 247Sports Composite Green is a four-star prospect, No. 3 position player in the state of Oklahoma, No. 188 Nationally.  246 Sports list him as No. 3 in the state of OK and No. 111 Nationally. A positive four-star running back to add to the Arkansas backfield.

“It was mainly just the relationship I have with the coaches, how they just talked to me and how they poured out how much I would fit good in there,” Green said.  “I think I will fit good in there, too.  Just some long, hard consideration.  I though about it, I didn’t want to do it too quick.  I thought about it before, but our relationship just got better and better.  And I’ve been there before and I loved it there.  The game atmosphere is crazy.  And I’m ready to do this rebuilding stage with them, and let’s just see where that leads.”

“They were ready.  They just kept saying, ‘We’re ready for you , big dog.’  They’ve already got a nickname set up for me (‘Money’), everything.  They’re telling me how many times I’m going to get the ball on special teams, offense, all of that.  I’m ready for it too, I know they are.”  The coaching staff surly has these young recruits knowing they are going to make a difference in Fayetteville.  Coach Pittman is living up to that reputation.

Arkansas is only set to loose T.J. Hammonds and possibly Rakeem Boyd following the 2020-21 season and with the addition of Green keeps the Razorbacks backfield deep and greedy.  Don’t expect this coaching staff to be done yet, they have been hungry in the recruiting game and surly will add more and more to come.
