TeamFunded Baseball Player of the Week (4/22/25): Van Buren junior Weston Wilcox

After a slow start, the Van Buren Pointers are currently fighting for a 5A-West postseason spot and the play of junior Weston Wilcox last week helped improve their chances.

The outfielder/pitcher finished perfect at the plate in a two-game sweep over Greenwood, going 7-for-7 with three runs scored as well as three runs batted in to earned the TeamFunded Player of the Week. Wilcox also pitched 5.1 innings in Game One and recorded three strikeouts.

The Pointers came into this week at 9-10, but evened their overall record to .500 following Monday’s conference win over Harrison – in which Wilcox throw a complete game and struck out seven batters – and have won five of their past six contests.

Off of the field, Wilcox maintains a 3.9 GPA and scored a 24 on the ACT.
