Many softball teams statewide didn’t get to play past Tuesday of last week due to weather, but Gentry’s Audrie Littlejohn made the most of the Lady Pioneers’ lone contest.
The senior third basemen was named the TeamFunded Softball Player of the Week after finishing 2-for-2 as both hits went for home runs, one being a grand slam, in Gentry’s 14-1 rout of 4A-1 foe Gravette. Littlejohn brought home six runs, including scoring four of her own, and also stole a base. She helped the Lady Pioneers to an impressive turnaround season last spring, and they are riding high again as the current second-ranked team in Class 4A per this week’s Fearless Friday Super 7 rankings.
Off of the field, Littlejohn maintains a 3.9 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Additional finalists: Audrey Blair (Marshall), Haley Campbell (Cutter-Morning Star), Kenzie Freeman (Hackett), Brinkley Moreton (Lincoln)
