The freshman led the Lady Wildcats to a 12-4 season-opening win over Bigelow, striking out 16 of 27 batters faced while allowing only three hits and walking one in a complete game effort.
For her performance, Myers has been selected as the TeamFunded Softball Player of the Week.

Myers also did heavy damage at the plate batting in the 3-hole, finishing 4-for-5 with four runs scored, seven runs batted in and smacked two home runs, one of which was a two-run bomb and the other a grand slam. Along with playing softball, Myers competes in basketball and is on the shooting sports team for Hector. She also plays travel softball for Arkansas Platinum – Darr 16U. Away from the field, Myers thrives in the classroom, maintaining a 3.86 GPA and is in BETA Club, ETS, as well as Upward Bound at Arkansas Tech.
Hector (1-0) is scheduled to take on Sacred Heart (Tuesday) and Mountainburg (Thursday) before finishing up the week with the 2A-4 conference opener against Westside – Johnson County.
