Mountain West Conference foe San Jose State visits Fayetteville Saturday to face the Hogs at 6:30 on SEC Network.

This will be San Jose State’s first road game this year after playing two games at home. It’s time for Starkel to continue to show progress in this non conference game before his first SEC start versus his old team, Texas A&M.

However, we need him to stay focused on this game and not think ahead to next week…stay in the game you are in and show out a little. Give Coach Morris another reason to dance after this game.

Fans will be looking for the offense to put up more impressive numbers in a victory this weekend. Starkel will need to prove his detractors wrong again with another big offensive performance. We need to see another 300 plus yard game from our QB, alongside another 10 yard performance from Rakeem Boyd. After the fast start last Saturday with QB Nick Starkel, expect him to try to air it out and do so frequently to start this game.

The goal this weekend will be to win big, stay healthy, and get ready for the tough road they are about to travel down. Expect to see O’Grady and Knox get plenty to targets. For Whaley and Hayden, we need some good, productive reps running the ball. The Hogs will have a goal to come out and get 500 yards on offense and go ahead and put up another 50+ on the board.

San Jose State has averaged 25 points per game and 365 yards per game in their first 2 games, going 1-1 in those games. The Razorback defense will have a game to play this week with a passing QB and a running QB on the roster for the Spartans.

Expect to see multiple looks as they try to keep the flow going of the Spartan offense. After a week of not seeing much of Bumper Pool, the Hogs need him to get back in the flow with Agim and Foucha. This trio will need to keep that line contained and their running game at bay. Force the offense into being one dimensional and get to the QB quickly.

I would like to see a big game from Kam Curl again getting that secondary, that is looking better and better, another multi turnover performance. The Hog defense needs to earn “Dat Wood” again this week!  Keep getting those turnovers on defense!

After the dominating 4th quarter last week against CSU, we would all like to see them come out hot int he fist quarter and keep that hammer swinging throughout this game.

Arkansas is a 20 point favorite and shows an 88% chance to win this game (ESPN FPI) after the win against CSU. Starkel should throw for 350 yards with 3 TDs this week. Boyd should also get his 100 yards rushing.

It’s time to open up the offense a little more this week and show the fans more of what they want to see. We can talk about the Chad Morris offense all we want, but it’s time to show more. We need more than 30% of the offense put into play! Let’s truly get ready to WIN in Texas for a change and bring the Razorbacks back into the thick of things.

Prediction

San Jose State 24 Arkansas Razorbacks 56
