Arkansas finally allowed more than 50 points in a game, but the Hog defense was still dominant. The Razorbacks forced 24 turnovers. Texas Southern shot just 35% from the field and went 2-10 from three. Arkansas has now held opponents to 8-68 from beyond the arc. That is an incredible stat! Jimmy Whitt had his best game as a Razorback. The Graduate Senior tallied 17 points, 10 rebounds. Adrio Bailey tallied a career high six blocks.

The contest was an easy win for the Razorbacks. That is the best birthday present coach Eric Musselman could have asked for.

What Went Right

Isaiah Joe

After 60 basketball minutes of cold shooting, Isaiah Joe finals broke out of the slump in the 2nd half against Texas Southern. Joe exploded for 33 points with six three pointers in the second half. He also had four rebound and five steals.

Reggie Chaney

Chaney made his return after serving a 3-game suspension for violation of team rules. While he did not fill up the stat sheet, it is good for the Razorbacks to have him back. In 19 minutes, Chaney finished with 6 points, 4 steals, but only 2 rebounds. Arkansas will need him to crash the boards more going forward.

What Went Wrong

Cold Shooting

Isaiah Joe was the only Razorback to make a 3-point field goal on Tuesday night. The rest of the team combined for 0-13.

What Now

Arkansas will take on maybe their toughest match-up yet on Friday. The South Dakota Coyotes come to Bud Walton Arena. The Coyotes are 5-0 and have a legitimate presence in the paint. With a road game the following Monday to play Georgia Tech, the Hogs cannot look past this game against South Dakota.

Ben Brandon
Like many in our state, I didn't have a choice in who my favorite team would be growing up. I was raised on Razorback. I remember watching the early season games on ARSN or conference games on JP Sports. My first favorite players were Brandon Dean and Joe Johnson. Great memories. I never thought years ago I would be writing about Arkansas Basketball. I don't have a journalism background or anything like that. When given the opportunity, I wanted to challenge myself with something new and it has been a blast!
